Welcome to Garden Valley California! This is a great place to live and play. It is located in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains. Our elevation is about 2200 feet. The weather is very nice here most of the time with low humidity and temperatures that range from about 85 degrees in the summer to about 35 degrees in the winter.

The town of Cool is just down the road a piece. Cool has a population of about 900 people and we have about 700 here in Garden Valley. The area is known for it’s Gold Rush history, outdoor recreation opportunities, beautiful scenery, and friendly people!

There are many activities to enjoy around here including hiking, camping, hunting, swimming, boating, fishing, rafting, kayaking, rock climbing, horseback riding and more! There are several lakes within an hour’s drive including Jackson Lake, Caples Lake, Sly Park Lake (Jenkinson Lake), Stumpy Meadows Reservoir and Union Valley Reservoir. There are also many rivers nearby like the Cosumnes River which flows through El Dorado County on its way down towards Sacramento where it joins with the Mokelumne River to form the San Joaquin River then out into San Francisco Bay.
